Last year I couldn’t figure out what to get my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. Then I was watching tv and a commercial came on that said “express your love by getting rugby match tickets.” And I thought- YES, I totally will get us tickets. So, I bought tickets for the game that was like 2 days after Valentine’s Day. And on V-day I surprised my boyfriend with them…he was so happy and surprised!

Alright, it was game day…my boyfriend even came home from work early to get ready. We were waiting for 5pm. Well, 5pm came…and so did my boyfriend’s friend, Matt- Matt was at our door, in his rugby top, and I’m thinking, ‘what are you doing here.’ Then, my boyfriend came down stairs and said, ‘you ready’…to Matt!!!

I was so mad! Ya, I gave you rugby tickets on Valentine’s Day so you could take your guy friend! How romantic…. mmm!

My partner always seems to end up working on Valentine’s Day, no matter what day of the week it falls on. But one year he had promised to be home, unfortunately his truck caught fire over in Germany a couple of days before and his employers ordered him to stay with it until the repairs were done, about 4 or 5 days. This was all pre-mobile phones so I only got a very short call to explain.

I cancelled all our plans and went to bed alone on the 13th Feb, only to be woken up the next morning by the dogs barking and the front door opening… he had only hitch hiked all the way back to the UK!

His bosses weren’t impressed, but I was. And it was simple enough for him to go back with another driver the next week to collect his truck

If I have to choose the best Valentine’s Day I do not have any doubt!
The one that has just passed is for sure the best one and I will remember it as one of the most exciting days of my whole life!
I’m Italian and me and my boyfriend (this is our 8th year together!!!) are spending a short period of vacation (just 2 weeks) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
We spent our Valentine’s Day in the most exciting, intense and unique way: PARADING AT THE RIO’S CARNIVAL!
In the Paradise of Folly, we were amazed by the costumes (we were Brazilian Indios), the colors, the incredible allegories…it looks like everyone is going mad and we were inside this vortex of emotions and enchantment!!!
In the greatest show on earth, Brazil show itself through the sound and vibrations of the samba schools and we enjoyed and lived it up to each moment, singing along with our school mates and all the audience (including MADONNA, who came with her Brazilian boyfriend and her daughter!).
This night, will for sure be kept in my heart….the most beautiful Valentine’s Day of my life!

Well, I’ve never actually went on a date on Valentine’s Day but I did went out with my roommate Mike on this Valentine’s Day and we went fishing at Tingley Beach here in Albuquerque. Anyway, Mike wasn’t catching any fish, he was too busy watching this other guy catch like a bunch of rainbow trouts (I believe he caught like 50 fish or something like that). So Mike wanted to know how was he able to catch a bunch of fish and so the one of this guy’s buddies goes, “he uses rubber” and Mike couldn’t believe it at first, so he asked again and the guy told him the same thing. So we started to hang out with them and I don’t know if they had a little too much to drink but they were cracking jokes left and right and Mike was cracking insults and jokes right back at them. One of the guys let me have his fishes that he caught. I ended up going home with 8 little trouts which I did not keep sadly because I didn’t know how to cook a fish but Mike and I ended up staying with them for about a couple of hours before we went home. It was fun and I hope we get to see those guys again soon. Me and Mike always have a great time when we go out anywhere but this tops them all.

This year was the first time I ever had a boyfriend for valentines day. (and I’m 23) He surprised me in the morning with a great breakfast basket that we enjoyed on the train to Brussels. When we got there he told me he had a special surprise for us. He booked 2 tickets to go first class to Amsterdam with the thalys, and we stayed at the magnificent Sofitel “The grand” in Amsterdam. The BEST Hotel of Amsterdam. We had a magnificant room ( check out the sofitel website) a welcome gift and the best staff I ever had the pleasure of seeing at work. (And I work in the hotel industry, so that says a lot!) For that evening he booked us a table at “de compagnons” A very very good restaurant in the city centre, but impossible to find if U don’t know the location. We had a window table with a view on the canal next to us. I can truly say it was better then I could ever had Imagined. For a very first valentine ever it was wonderfull!!

Well, it was February 2006 and I started going out with a guy, we kind of clicked very quickly, so on Valentines Day we both asked each other to become boyfriend and boyfriend hahaha. I first told him some romantic words in french (we both love it) and then he showed me a big banner he made me, it was lovely, and obviously we both said YES!
One year later I planned a big romantic one-year anniversary night, I rented a room in a nice hotel outside of the city, with a fire place, lovely view to the city, filled the room with roses and candles, and made dinner with wine and of course some cake as dessert, it was very romantic and unforgettable.
We’re not together anymore lol, but it’s a great memory.

well last year my boyfriend and i had planned a huge valentine’s day. it was my turn to treat him, i decided to to take him to this really fancy resturant and buy everything for him, just wine and dine him. Well the big day comes and he’s ill!! so ill, with the flu! so i went over to his place and we cozied up all night and i told him id take him out to get ice cream and we went to Braum’s a local ice cream chain and i bought him a $2 sundae and a box of popsicles that he loves.

all in all it turned out to be really sweet and low key valentine’s day.

I didn’t really have a date before since i’m like a pre-teen but i could tell you what i did in on valentines day i went with my parents actually my whole family went to an italian fancy buffet resturant called Frankie Tomatos in Toronto, and it was kind of funny. First we went to the buffet and i dropped the pizza on the floor and some people were staring so i just left there seeming like it never happen to me. Then my sister i think ordered a root beer and when it came to our table they gave it in a beer glass and seeing my parents weren’t there when we ordered they like stole it from her mouth. Anyways it was an all o.k. day but funny for my parents they went with us on a valentines dinner hahaha!!!!
